Something between you has Changed. You can both feel it.

Couples therapy in Denver and Arvada, CO — for partners who are ready to actually work on it, not just talk about it.

It's not that you don't love each other.

It's that the same arguments keep happening. Or nothing gets said at all. There's distance that didn't used to be there, and the usual attempts to fix it aren't reaching the root. You've tried talking it through on your own. Maybe you've even tried therapy before and left feeling like it didn't do much.

Most couples don't have a communication problem. They have an emotional distance problem — and communication skills don't fix that. What fixes it is getting underneath the distance to what's actually driving it.

That's the work I do with couples.

Who This Is For

This works well for couples who...

  • Keep having the same fight and can't figure out why it never actually resolves.

  • Have grown distant and aren't sure when it happened or how to get back.

  • Are navigating a rupture — infidelity, a major betrayal, or a loss of trust — and want to know if it's possible to rebuild.

  • Feel more like roommates than partners and want to change that.

  • Are at a crossroads and want to make a real, informed decision about the relationship rather than just drift.

How I work with couples.

My approach to couples work is depth-oriented and emotionally focused. Most couples enter therapy talking about the content of their conflicts — who said what, who did what. That's rarely where the real problem lives. Underneath most recurring conflict are attachment needs, emotional injuries, and defensive patterns that have developed over time and become self-reinforcing.

We'll slow the interaction down, get underneath the surface content, and work with the emotional experience driving it. That's where the real softening and reconnection happens — not in communication scripts.

I draw on Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT) and psychodynamic approaches, adapting to what the two of you need. I work with one couple at a time per slot, which means our sessions get my full preparation and attention.
